However, this has a downside: you have to know precisely what you want to get rid of, and it has to be ready to go out the door. If you have a large basement full of stuff, you may not know if it’s all junk or not. You’ll need to sort through it. As you do, you’ll find things you want to keep, but you’ll also find stuff that needs to go. What do you do with that junk? To have space to go through everything, you may need to move it out of the basement. That means getting it up the stairs on your own and then finding some place to keep it until you have everything together for us. It’s not ideal.
Another situation that isn’t ideal for full-service junk removal is a DIY project. For example, while renovating your kitchen may create a large amount of debris early on, there may be more you make as you go. You’ll have all the packaging from your counters, the remainders from cutting tile or vinyl flooring pieces to fit, and more. If you have us come pick up the garbage after you demo your old kitchen, what do you do with the trash you create as you work? You’ll have to call us again if you want to have that junk hauled away.
The best solution in these cases is to rent a dumpster. With a dumpster on-site, you can throw away trash and unwanted items as you go. This allows you to create space in the basement, attic, or garage to sort out the items you want to keep since you can take the junk out immediately. With DIY projects, you can fill the dumpster with trash as you create it. There’s no need to pile up all the debris until you call us, and everything goes straight to the trash.
